Welcome to this November instalment of ‘Life Within Four Corners’, where I share some of my favourite photos, and the stories that went along with them, from the preceding month. You can find out all about Life Within Four Corners here, and I’d love it if you joined in by sharing some of your favourite monthly photos and stories too! You can also get involved on Instagram using the hashtag #lifewithinfourcorners, and at the end of each month I’ll pick a few of my favourites to post up on my feed (thanks so much to those of you who’ve already been joining in!)
I’ll start off by patting myself on the back for posting this before the end of the month for once (yay!) before being slightly less smug and admitting that November hasn’t been the best month for me on the photo-taking front. The month has had a lot in common with my favourite Guns N’ Roses ballad and November Rain has pretty much summed up life lately. I’m trying to think of a song analogy for howling gales and complete lack of sunlight but I think you get the picture – the weather has been really really bad 😉
Clouds and silver linings though and there have been some beautiful moments within our six hours or so quota of daylight. And when that November light has made an appearance it really has been quite something to behold.
And those lost daylight hours mean I now have more chance of catching both the sunrise and the sunset – winter bonus! 🙂 There have been some beautiful skies this month, the type that stop you in your tracks and make you feel so lucky to be alive.
In amongst the bad weather, there have been a few days of blue skies that have made me dance around my living room. And even when the sun hasn’t been shining, there are always trees, books – and books about trees if you’re into that sort of thing 🙂
Whatever the outlook, my dog is always on hand and happy to pose for photos (especially when I have a treat in my hand: note the angle of the stare and the slightly worried look). Don’t you just love a weathered door by the way? Blogger paradise. The scruffier the better as far as I’m concerned!
And here’s to late afternoons on the beach when it was just us, the sunset and the golden hour – pure bliss in a photo. This is exactly my kind of day in winter – December, can you order in a few more of these for me please? 😉
And last month I think I might have promised you a bit of the white stuff – I aim to deliver 🙂 Seeing this at the weekend on our way to Edinburgh certainly made up for all that rain.
I’ll leave you with an old book, home made toddies and a cosy blanket. Wrap up warm and I’ll be back in December with a round up of the year’s favourite photos. Have a good one Life Within Four Corners readers. I hope to see you in the blogosphere again very soon 🙂
