I’m Gail – a writer from the far north of Scotland. I’m the author of two young adult fantasy novels, Castles of Steel and Thunder and Pieces of Sky and Stone. I write books and articles inspired by place, people, and connection to landscape.

My writing has featured in publications such as Fieldfare and Northwords Now, and my poetry has been published by the Scottish Book Trust. In 2024, I was longlisted for the Nature Chronicles Prize.

I’m currently undertaking an MA in Creative Writing and working on a piece of non-fiction combining memoir, nature writing, mythology and place-stories from the north Highlands.
